The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), as the main business representative organisation in Cyprus, invests in green and digital transformation actions and invites Cyprus businesses to follow their example by adopting and supporting similar actions.
In recent years, the development of systems with a low energy and environmental footprint has been a primary objective of the European and National policies. At the same time, digital technologies, in a world where huge amounts of data are being generated, can enhance the energy transition, as they are closely linked to the two main policies of the European Commission, the digital transition of the economy and the transition to clean energy, in order to achieve the climate neutrality objective by 2050.
In the context of the efforts to create combined green and digital transformation initiatives (twin transition), at national and transnational level, and through the pilot actions of the "GoGreen - Computing Power Goes Green" project, the CCCI is showing the way to green entrepreneurship by starting the transformation of its building into a Green Building, through the following actions:
- Installation of new, less energy-consuming servers.
- Installation of photovoltaic panels.
- Installation of 2 electric vehicle charging stations.
- Installation of smart meters.
- Air quality measurement service.
The GoGreen project is co-funded by the European Union's Interreg Balkan-Med cross-border programme and CCCI is part of its consortium.
